Dutch Lady Vietnam produces milk products like drink yogurt and infant milk powder for the Vietnamese market. Dutch Lady’s first factory was built in Ho Chi Minh City in 1996. The factory in Ha Nam is their second factory in Vietnam and has been constructed on a green field site.
Concept design of the factory in HaNam started in May 2006 and construction activities started in January 2007. The project included:
- A factory for the production of liquid milk and drinking yoghurt, complete with process areas, filling rooms, warehouse areas, labs and offices.
- A separate facility for the production of Infant Milk Products (IMP)
- Utility Building
- Office Building
- Canteen
- Water Treatment Plant
- Waste Water Treatment Plant
- Store Buildings, Covered Parking Areas, Roads, Drainage Systems and Perimeter fence.
The factory is a concrete structure on piles with steel roof and has been designed for possible future expansion. The process in the liquid milk factory is enclosed, which enables the factory to be naturally ventilated. Acid resistant tiles are installed to the process areas, and floor drains discharge by gravity to the pump pit at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The IMP Building is a similar construction to the liquid milk factory, but with clean rooms constructed from sandwich panels to the process areas.
The office building is a single storey concrete structure and can be extended to a second storey in the future.
As of May 2008, the annual production capacity of the factory is 200 million kg of dairy products.
